Jetter AG launches a new version of the ISO Designer

Jetter AG has released version 3.11 of its ISO Designer for creating graphical user interfaces. ISO Designer is a powerful design environment for creating screen masks complying with the requirements of ISO 11783. The easy-to-use editor provides the user with many functions employing object-oriented structures for the creation of screen masks. ISO 11783-compliant masks are used in operation and visualization in utility vehicles for agriculture and forestry and in municipal vehicles. Once objects have been created they can be used again and again in various masks within a project. It is also possible to create libraries easily using Drag and Drop so that objects are also available for use in different projects. The masks created are saved as IOP files. IOP files created in third-party editors may also be imported into ISO Designer. A demo version of ISO Designer can be downloaded from http://iso-designer.de/

Graphics-capable HMI for harsh environments

The Ludwigsburg-based automation specialist Jetter AG has launched its new JVM-407 graphics-capable HMI, designed especially for use in harsh environments. It may be used for the control, configuration and operation of vehicles and mobile machinery such as municipal vehicles, delivery and disposal vehicles, agricultural machinery, forestry machinery and even construction vehicles. The device meets all the necessary protection requirements relating to ambient temperature, shock, vibration, electromagnetic compatibility and water/dust tightness. The keyboard has a "night design". The display brightness and key lighting can be adjusted according to needs. An integrated beeper can give warning or confirmation signals. The device has 16 digital inputs, rated for a power supply of 12 V and 24 V. A digital fused output rated at 3 A allows control of a relay. A video input using the PAL or NTSC standards permits connection of a rear view camera. The JVM-407 has three CAN buses, independent of one another, for communications with remote peripheral devices. The HMI also includes an interpreter for Jetter application programs written in the JetSym STX high level language. This means that it can also be used for controlling small and medium sized applications.

Systems for Mobile Automation

Jetter AG presented their solutions as mobile automation system provider at the fair IAA Commercial Vehicles. The company has been active in industrial automation for thirty years and the experience gained during this time is channeled directly into the development of control systems for mobile automation. For almost ten years Jetter AG has been supplying HMIs to renowned manufacturers of mobile machines. This has allowed the company to build up the necessary competence and expertise. Now, Jetter AG offers a well-coordinated system comprising of software and hardware for mobile applications. Each controller can be used as freely programmable standalone device, but can also be combined with a variety of peripheral modules.
The JetSym software development tool with the JetSym STX programming language is a powerful tool for efficient system programming. JetSym STX is a genuine high-level language offering the same possibilities as other languages, such as C++ or Java. Programmers who have a knowledge of structured text from the IEC 61131-3 standard, however, will also be able to work easily with JetSym STX, as it is an extension of the language of this standard.
Users wanting to implement graphic user interfaces can use Jetter's design tools JetViewSoft and ISO-Designer. The ISO Designer is a convenient design environment for creating masks with object-oriented structures that conform to the requirements of the ISO 11783 standard. This tool allows to create non-proprietary masks for virtual terminals (VTs) connected to the so-called ISO bus.

New Version of SCADA Software JetViewSoft

Jetter AG unveil version 3.11 of their SCADA software JetViewSoft. What distinguishes this visualization tool from other tools is its strict object-oriented approach where the user needs no experience in object-oriented programming. Here, individual objects with all their properties can be created and managed in an object pool. The user is given the possibility to store created objects to libraries using Drag&Drop and to reuse these objects in other projects. This makes creation of masks very efficient and easy. High flexibility with respect to dynamic functions and macros is achieved thanks to integration of the high-level programming language JetSym STX as scripting language into JetViewSoft. All JetControl PLCs made by Jetter AG can be programmed using JetSym STX.

Jetter AG expect two-digit sales growth

On 24 June, Jetter AG published the business report for the year ended 31 March 2010. The economic crisis has marked the events at Jetter throughout the year. The German machinery industry suffered the biggest order loss in recent history. Jetter AG, a supplier to that industry, could not evade this development.
Management supposes that the group has already passed the low point of economic development. A sensible improvement and the return to profits is expected for the second half of 2010. For the fiscal years until 2011/12, management expects a yearly sales growth well in the double-digit range and corresponding results, driven by the area of mobile automation as well as by the recovery of the industrial automation sector.

30 Years of Jetter Automation Technology

Jetter AG is celebrating their 30th anniversary this year. In 1980, Martin Jetter founded an “Office for Microelectronics”. Soon afterwards, the Process-PLC Technology was born and brought to the automation market. This new technology featured the easy-to-use and clear programming language SYMPAS. Compared with traditional programming languages used in industrial automation, such as FBD/LAD/STL, this new language represented a real revolution. At that time, SYMPAS, a plain-text, high-level language with multitasking capability, already featured the whole range of automation functions, such as axis positioning. Jetter AG achieved great publicity when they introduced JetWeb technology in 1999. As a trailblazer in the field of end-to-end Ethernet in industrial automation the company ushered in a paradigm change in automation industry. In 2005, Jetter AG introduced another innovation – the programming language JetSym STX. This language is based on Structured Text and allows to program JetWeb controllers using the features of high-level IT languages. Thanks to these features, undreamt-of possibilities open up for the user, such as file operations, exception handling and object-oriented programming. Furthermore, JetSym STX is the first programming language in industrial automation fully integrating path control into its instruction set.

Versatile Compact Motion Controller

Jetter AG complete their portfolio of compact drive controllers by the new JetMove 108. It has especially been developed for the voltage range from 12 to 48 VDC. At a rated current of 8 A the maximum power is 384 W. Thanks to its small dimensions of 136 mm x 96 mm x 26 mm (H x D x W) the housing is very compact. JetMove 108 allows you to run most common motor types, such as servo motors, direct drives, 2- and 3-phase stepper motors, asynchronous or DC motors. The JetMove 108 has got the same characteristic feature as all other JetMove motion controllers. All of them have transparently been integrated into the JetControl controllers and they are programmed and commissioned by means of the programming software JetSym. JetMove 108 also supports technological and special functions, such as dynamically switchable tables, position and speed synchronization, print mark correction, winding mode and flying saw. This small multitalent is apt for applications in all sectors of mechanical engineering.
