Jetter happy with its appearance at the SPS/IPC/DRIVES 2011 exhibition

Jetter AG is happy with its appearance at the SPS/IPC/Drives exhibition in November 2011. Visitors were able to hear for themselves the benefits of JetWeb technology at the Jetter booth.

Visitors to the Nuremberg automation exhibition were shown a complex application of JetWeb technology on a big screen at regular intervals at the Jetter exhibition booth. A video showed a machine as it created hollow glass. This machine contains up to 140 servo drives coordinated via Ethernet TCP/IP and it produces more than 700 glass bottles per minute right round the clock. This application provided an impressive demonstration of the robustness and reliability of JetWeb technology. Viewers commented on the complexity of the glass-bottle manufacturing process and viewed the JetWeb technology as "highly impressive".
There were also new products presented to the visitors in the area of industrial as well as mobile automation. Here are some prominent examples: The compact JV-1004 graphic display is an attractive alternative to text displays. It is highly compact with external dimensions of 147 x 107 x 52 mm and with a control panel fitted with a resistive 4.3" color TFT touchscreen with LED technology. It has been designed mainly for smaller cost-sensitive applications in industrial automation. It will be available in larger quantities from early 2012.
In the area of mobile automation Jetter AG presented its new drive technology to the wider public for the first time. In mobile applications the requirements for electrical drives are particularly stringent. The devices must withstand major temperature fluctuations, be extremely leak-tight, operate at temperatures between -40 and +85 degrees Celsius and be resistant to impacts and vibrations. At the same time, however, they must be compact, since space is often limited. The inverter presented as prototype JMM-5000 enables both asynchronous and synchronous motors to be operated either with a feedback unit (resolver or sin/cos) or without sensors. In addition to the matching motors, Jetter also offers a range of accessories such as gear units, cables, connectors and cooling systems. Electrical drive technology is ideally suited to use in mobile automation with conveyor belts, fans, blowers and worm shafts, or as a replacement for hydraulics. The drive system is expected to be ready for production in fall 2012.
The fact that ease of use for the software tools is gaining ever greater significance with the public can be seen from the presentation on the new versions of the JetSym programming tool and the design tool ISO Designer. Both tools have been provided with various enhancements aimed at further reducing engineering times and thereby development costs for customers through even greater ease of use.
Experienced users of JetWeb technology confirmed the superiority of the JetSym STX high-level language as compared with conventional SPS languages. Programmers in particular who like to program in high-level languages such as C, C++, C#, Java or ST (structured text) also feel at home with the sophisticated JetSym STX language.
Overall, Jetter can look back on a successful exhibition, which culminated in several interesting contacts and discussions.

Jetter AG presents electrical drive technology for mobile automation for the first time at Agritechnica

Visitors to the trade fair showed a keen interest in Jetter AG's booth. The automation specialist from Ludwigsburg was presenting new products for modular systems in the field of controls, peripheral modules, operator terminals and drives.

The new drive technology for mobile automation was presented to the public for the first time at Jetter AG's booth. Electrical drives are used in various sectors. In mobile applications the requirements are particularly stringent. The devices must withstand major temperature fluctuations, be extremely leak-tight and resistant to impacts and vibrations. At the same time, however, they must be compact, since space is often limited.
At Agritechnica, the JMM-5000 double inverter was presented as a prototype, available with performance levels of five to forty kilowatts and suitable for an ambient temperature ranging from -40 to +85 degrees Celsius. It uses liquid cooling and features degrees of protection of IP6K to 9K. This inverter enables both asynchronous and synchronous motors to be operated either with a feedback unit (resolver or sin/cos) or without sensors.
A further innovation from Jetter which was also presented as a prototype at Agritechnica is the brand new implement ECU from the JC-500 series. The device satisfies the stringent requirements in terms of temperature, tightness, shock and electromagnetic compatibility regulations for outdoor use. The electronics of the new ECU have a modular structure, which means that the digital and analog input and output configuration is tailored precisely to customer requirements. And last but not least, the latest version of the ISO-Designer - a design tool for ISO-compliant masks with integrated ISO VT simulation - was also presented. The created masks, including softkeys, can be displayed and simulated on the PC screen, without the need for additional hardware. This significantly reduces development time, since it is often not necessary to perform a download to an ECU (Electronic Control Unit).
Overall, Jetter AG can look back on a successful exhibition, which culminated in several interesting contacts and discussions. Mobile automation has become an important pillar at Jetter AG, and the company intends to build on this success in the future.

Special Solutions for Servo Motors

Jetter AG offers special solutions for drive technology including for smaller series

As a systems provider for control technology, Jetter AG in Ludwigsburg is able to offer its customers automation solutions that match their needs perfectly. This is especially the case in the field of drive technology. Standard solutions are often inadequate where installation space is limited or where there are other specific requirements for motor performance (including at increased ambient temperature and in harsh industrial environments). These cases require provider flexibility, especially when invaluable minimum order quantities are not supposed to be involved.
A specially developed servo motor is used in the takeout mechanism of the highly compact and newly developed glass container production machine of the company Emhart Glass based in Cham (Switzerland). Each and every millimeter was grappled with when designing the motor length as space is extremely limited here. As a result a servo motor was developed in collaboration with Jetter that meets these requirements. In addition to a special stator winding, the adjustments also affected the bearings, housing and motor connection. The servo motor is highly compact with a flange dimension of 140 x 140 millimeters and an overall length of 118 millimeters. This is with a stall torque of 9.5 Newton meters and a peak torque of 40 Newton meters. In combination with the JetMove servo amplifiers it can be seamlessly integrated into the Jetter control system and optimally parameterized from there. Combinations are also possible with servo amplifiers from third-party providers.
Special servo motor versions can be used wherever specific requirements or environmental conditions prevail. These requirements can be found in robotics, in handling machines, packaging machines and in the watch and semiconductor industries.
